What we Believe:
The entire Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inerrant inspired word of God.
In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
That Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins and rose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven and reigns as High Priest for believers as advocate and intercessor and that He will return to receive His Church and establish His kingdom.
That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict sinners and regenerate the believer to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In the bodily resurrection of the dead; the believer to everlasting life with the Lord and the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting separation from God.
That water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances observed by the Church and are not regarded as means to salvation.
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in Him image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore call to defend, protect and value all human life (Psalms 139).
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female and that these two distinct, complimentary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
We believe that God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman and that intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that union.
This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of the Yaak Community Church's faith, doctrine, practice, policy and discipline, our pastor and board of directors are the Yaak Community Church's final interpretive authority on the Bible's meaning and application.
What programs do you offer for Children?
All children gather with the adults for worship, prayer and for the message each Sunday morning.
We also gather with children on Wednesday evenings at 4 - 7pm for our "Yaak Trackers" program where they are taught bible verses and worship songs in a playful and interactive time with volunteer members of our church family. This program runs in accordance with the public school schedule.
